The Pittsburgh Public School District seeks an Executive Director of Support Services. 

The individual in this position is responsible for performing the duties that will assist the Chief Academic Officer in the development and implementation of a coordinated system of student services to enhance student learning by addressing barriers that impact the cognitive, physical, emotional, and social well being of students.  Further, the Executive Director of Support Services coordinates and ensures the assignments of students with exceptionalities to appropriate educational programs, follows mandated procedural safeguards, and guarantees local policies and procedures as mandated by federal and state regulations.
 
The candidate must possess a Pennsylvania Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility and have at least 10 years experience in a supervisory or other administrative position related to special education or student support services.  Prior experience in planning, developing, managing and coordinating integrated programs or projects involving partnerships with various offices, agencies, and community organizations.  Demonstrated skills in educational administration, staff leadership and evaluation, organization, communication and interpersonal skills.   Documented experience in implementing educational reform programs and preparing and monitoring budgets and audits.  Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations that pertain to students with exceptionalities.  Ability to collaborate and function as a part of diverse teams including internal and external stakeholders.
