Responsibilities: The General Manager will perform a full range of managerial, administrative and supervisory functions commensurate with the level of the position, and supervise the custodial coordinators, grounds supervisor, and maintenance planner. The General Manager will research methods, procedures, and techniques for departmental improvements and develop plans for their implementation, as well as manage the annual operations and maintenance budgets.
Requirements: The General Manager must have knowledge of the laws, rules, and regulations relating to building maintenance and operations. The General Manager must have considerable knowledge of management theories and techniques, and must exhibit leadership and conflict
management skills. The General Manager must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. The General Manager will preferably have experience in the management of public sector personnel and other classified personnel represented by bargaining groups.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in engineering or architecture, registration as a professional engineer or architect in the State of Minnesota, and five years experience in the management of building construction and building maintenance and operations; or
Bachelors Degree in Management or a related degree and seven years of experience in the management of building construction and building maintenance and operations.
